  • About the Artist

Joris Brantuas is above all a performer, close to the street art movement. Graduated from Esban, art school of Nîmes, in 2005, he draws his painting, of free abstraction, of various influences of which Cy Twombly, Julian Schnabel or Olivier Debré, the school of Paris more generally, but also the Japanese movement Gutay.

Free abstraction considers figurative painting to be abstract, which is why he also paints figures.

Joris has created numerous performances, which can be found on his YouTube account, at the Louvre Museum, the Pompidou Center, the Tate Modern in London, the Gogasian Gallery in New York and the Moma.

The theme proposed to the tower on the phrase "I love you", declined in its own way, concludes a surprising, varied and fresh exhibition.

Joris Brantuas is represented at Maison contemporain since June 2020.
