  • About the Artist

A graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, Nicolas Pincemin moved to Marseille in 2000. Since 2006, he has participated in several group exhibitions including Varium and mutabile semper, Galerie de la Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille or Mauvaises Résolutions in 2009; his work was also presented during the contemporary art fair Art-o-rama (Marseille) in 2011. The Contemporary Art Center of Istres welcomes Nous n'irons plus au bois and reveals a successful personal exhibition. Sextant et Plus is publishing a remarkable monographic catalog for this event. The collective exhibition curated by Dominique Angel at the Departmental Museum of Gap will be the subject of the acquisition of several works by the museum. The group exhibitions It was not gay but not sad either, it was beautiful at the Espace Van Gogh in Arles and Calme at the Galerie du 5 ° in Marseille marked the year 2012. The following year, l'Affût , personal exhibition at the Maison du Livre du Son et de l'Image in Villeurbanne develops a monumental fresco in situ. Nicolas Pincemin was invited in the following years to several group exhibitions such as at the Léonardo Agosti gallery in Sète with Unplugged. 2015 and 2016 are punctuated by the creation of a series of screen-printed paintings with Atelier Tchikebe in Marseille and by the approach of tapestry, a medium that he is still developing. His exhibition La Tentation de l'Artifice unveils new research and orientations and thus marks his collaboration with the Béa-Ba gallery, Marseille.
